Gorakhpur :
Gorakhpur, February 26 : Gorakshapeethadhishwar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath performed the sacred Rudrabhishek on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, offering prayers to Devadhidev Mahadev for public and national welfare. The ritual occurred at the Shakti Mandir, located within the Peethadheeshwar's residence in Gorakshapeeth. Following the Rudrabhishek, CM Yogi conducted a havan, completing the Shivopasana ritual with deep devotion.
As part of the special Maha Shivratri worship, the Chief Minister performed the Rudrabhishek, offering cow milk to Lord Mahadev at Shakti Mandir on Wednesday morning. The temple's priests and Vedpathi Brahmins solemnized the ritual with the powerful chants of the Rudrashtadhyayi from the Shukla Yajurveda Samhita.
Afterwards, CM Yogi performed a havan and aarti, praying to Adiyogi Mahadev for universal welfare. The entire ritual lasted for over two hours.
Before this, CM Yogi also visited the Shiva temple within the Gorakhnath temple complex, where he worshipped Lord Nandi and offered sacred water to Lord Bholenath.
Notably, in the Nath tradition, Guru Gorakhnath is revered as Lord Shiva's incarnation, dedicated to all's welfare. The Gorakhnath temple embodies the essence of public service and spiritual upliftment, making Maha Shivratri an especially significant occasion for the Gorakshapeethadhishwar.
