New Delhi :
New Delhi, 8 February : The shocking defeat of Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly elections has become a major topic of discussion across the country. Amid this, senior Congress leader and Punjab’s Leader of Opposition, Pratap Singh Bajwa, has made a big claim. Speaking to a news channel, Bajwa alleged that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and several AAP MLAs are in contact with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
AAP’s Top Leaders Suffer Heavy Defeat
Nearly all senior AAP leaders faced a crushing defeat in the Delhi elections. Arvind Kejriwal lost his New Delhi seat, while former Deputy CM and AAP’s second-in-command, Manish Sisodia, was defeated in Patparganj. Other key leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj, Satyendar Jain, and Somnath Bharti, also lost their seats.
AAP’s Past Dominance in Delhi
AAP had secured historic victories in the 2015 and 2020 Delhi Assembly elections. The party won 67 out of 70 seats in 2015 and 62 in 2020, leading to Kejriwal’s consecutive terms as Chief Minister. Before that, in 2013, AAP briefly formed a 49-day government with Congress’s support, making Kejriwal Delhi’s CM for the first time.
Now, with AAP’s worst electoral setback, speculations about its leaders switching sides have added a new twist to Delhi’s political landscape.
