महाकुंभ नगर :
Mahakumbh Nagar, December 23 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, during his visit to Prayagraj to review the preparations for the upcoming Mahakumbh, also assessed public facilities beyond the event area.
As part of this, he visited Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital in the city, where he evaluated the ongoing preparations and provided necessary guidelines to ensure better facilities and services.
The Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed OPD at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital with a capacity to accommodate 4,000 patients. Built at a cost of Rs 5.5 crore, the new OPD aims to enhance healthcare services in the region.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inquired about the arrangements for the relatives of patients from Dr. Vatsala Mishra, Principal of Motilal Nehru Medical College.
Dr. Mishra informed him that the hospital currently has a 100-bed night shelter.
Following this, the Chief Minister directed the construction of an additional 50-bed night shelter to better support patient attendants.
The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the under-construction burn ward at Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital. This state-of-the-art 20-bed facility, being built by Uttar Pradesh Project Corporation Ltd. at a cost of Rs. 235.83 lakhs, will significantly enhance the hospital’s capacity by increasing the total number of beds in the burn ward from 26 to 46.
As the only burn treatment center in the division, this expansion is expected to provide improved medical care to a larger number of patients. When the Chief Minister inquired about its operational timeline, doctors assured him that the ward would be ready to admit patients starting Tuesday.
