Dehradun, 11 February : Sattal Christian Ashram’s XCO Course witnessed an intense battle of endurance and skill on last day of the Mountain Biking event at the 38th National Games. Cyclists from across the country pushed their limits in the grueling six-lap XCO final, with Maharashtra and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) dominating the podium.
Women’s Elite XCO Final
Maharashtra’s Pranita Prafull Soman delivered a stellar performance, clinching the gold medal with a commanding time of 01:22:10.818. Karnataka’s Star Narzary put up a strong fight but had to settle for silver with a time of 01:23:26.471. Maharashtra secured another spot on the podium, with Rutika Ravindra Gaikand taking the bronze in 01:27:05.623.
Men’s Elite XCO Final
In the men’s elite category, Kushiman Gharti of SSCB showcased exceptional speed and endurance, securing the gold medal with a finishing time of 01:19:20.0265. Haryana’s Shiven followed closely, bagging the silver medal with 01:19:44.6127. The bronze went to Kamleh Rana, also from SSCB, who clocked 01:21:38.0060.
The action-packed last day of mountain biking reaffirmed the growing competitiveness of the sport in India showcasing the best of Indian cycling talent.
