Lucknow, 10 February: Late Monday night, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a high-level review meeting via video conferencing with senior government officials, police officers, and district administration officials from multiple districts, including Prayagraj, Kaushambi, Kanpur, Sultanpur, Amethi, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Chitrakoot, Banda, Pratapgarh, Bhadohi, Rae Bareli, Gorakhpur, Mahoba, and Lucknow. During the meeting, the Chief Minister assessed the ongoing preparations for Mahakumbh 2025 and issued several important guidelines to ensure the smooth execution of the event.

Key Directives Issued by CM Yogi Adityanath:

•The fifth Snan Parv of Mahakumbh, Magh Purnima, is set for February 12. With the increasing influx of devotees into Prayagraj, a well-structured traffic and crowd management plan must be implemented.
•Parking facilities at Prayagraj’s borders should be efficiently operated, utilizing the available capacity of over 5 lakh vehicles. Shuttle buses should be deployed as required, and devotees must be encouraged to use designated parking areas.
• Traffic congestion must be prevented at all costs. Vehicles should not be allowed to park on roads, and long queues must be avoided.
•District Magistrates of all districts bordering Prayagraj must coordinate with the Prayagraj administration to ensure smooth vehicle movement and install barricading where necessary. Traffic jams due to toll collection should be avoided.
•Railway stations in Prayagraj are witnessing a high footfall of returning devotees. Coordination with the Railways should ensure continuous train operations, and additional Transport Corporation buses should be deployed.
•Cleanliness should be maintained as a hallmark of Mahakumbh. Machines should be used for cleaning flower offerings, and adequate water levels in the Ganga and Yamuna should be ensured.
•28 administrative officers of ADM and SDM levels, along with police officers, have been deployed for traffic management and should be utilized effectively.
•Unnecessary restrictions on movement in the Mela area should be avoided. Street vendors occupying roads should be relocated to designated areas to ensure smooth traffic flow.
•Continuous police patrolling must be ensured on all routes leading to Prayagraj. Cranes and ambulances should be readily available, and major routes should remain unobstructed.
•Over 44 crore 75 lakh pilgrims have taken the holy dip in the Sangam, marking the largest human gathering in history. While ensuring the smooth management of the fair, daily life in Prayagraj should remain unaffected, with no shortage of essential goods and uninterrupted facilities for local residents.
•February 12 marks Sant Ravidas Jayanti, with celebrations planned across multiple districts, including Sir Govardhanpur in Varanasi. Authorities should remain alert to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
•Pilgrims from Mahakumbh are also traveling to Varanasi, Ayodhya, Chitrakoot, and Mirzapur in large numbers. Increased security and crowd control measures should be implemented in these cities, with designated holding areas, barricading, and optimized parking facilities.
•Strict action should be taken against anarchist elements spreading misleading or false information. Accurate information must be promptly communicated to the public to prevent confusion or panic.
