Danta, Rajasthan | July 16, 2025 - In a deeply heartbreaking incident, a 9-year-old girl from Sikar district, Rajasthan, died after suffering two heart attacks within just a few hours on Tuesday. The incident has left the community in shock, raising concerns about children's health and emergency medical care in schools.

The girl, a student of Adarsh Vidya Mandir in Danta, was attending school like any other day when tragedy struck. According to Nand Kishore, the school’s principal, the incident happened around 11:00 am while the students were on the school grounds. “She suddenly dropped her lunchbox and collapsed,” he said. “We rushed to her immediately and took her to the nearest hospital.”

Doctors at the hospital confirmed that the child had suffered a cardiac arrest. After initial treatment, she was reportedly stabilised. However, to everyone's shock, the girl suffered a second, more severe heart attack just a few hours later, which proved fatal.

The doctors tried their best to revive her, but despite all efforts, the young girl could not be saved. She was declared dead later that afternoon.

The girl’s identity has not been made public, and the family has requested privacy as they process the sudden loss of their child. Medical staff at the hospital expressed deep condolences and mentioned that such incidents are extremely rare at such a young age, though not unheard of.

The school has suspended classes for a day in her memory, and grief counselors have been made available to support classmates and staff who witnessed the incident.

Locals in Danta have been left stunned, with many calling for better health screenings for schoolchildren and quicker access to emergency medical equipment like defibrillators in rural schools.

Medical professionals have pointed out that while cardiac arrests are more common in adults, children with undiagnosed heart conditions can also be at risk. Parents are now being urged to take any signs of fatigue, chest pain, or fainting seriously, no matter the age of the child.

This tragic loss has sparked a wider conversation on child health, awareness, and emergency readiness in schools across the region.
