नई दिल्ली : New Delhi, 7 May : In a strong retaliation to the deadly Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives, the Indian armed forces on Wednesday carried out precision strikes under “Operation Sindoor”, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
According to the Ministry of Defence, nine terror-linked sites were struck, while ensuring that no Pakistani military installations were targeted.

In response, Pakistan’s military confirmed the Indian strikes early Wednesday. Military spokesperson Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry stated that Indian missiles hit Kotli and Muzaffarabad in PoK, as well as Bahawalpur in Pakistan’s Punjab province. “Pakistan will respond at a time and place of its choosing. This provocation will not go unanswered,” he warned.
Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif condemned the action, calling it an “act of war.”
Meanwhile, Indian leaders, including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, praised the swift military action. “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” Rajnath Singh wrote on X.
