Gonda, April 4 : In a major step toward rural development and inclusivity, the Yogi Adityanath-led government has brought electricity to Manipur Grant Vantangiya village in Gonda district’s Chhapia block, ending decades of darkness for its residents. Home to around 80 tribal villagers, this remote settlement had long awaited electrification, which has now become a reality under the government's decisive policies and inclusive vision. The initiative reflects the Yogi government’s unwavering commitment to uplifting villages, the poor, and the marginalized, ensuring that no corner of Uttar Pradesh is left behind in development.
The transformation of this village, which had remained in the shadows since independence, began in 2018 when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched a special initiative for the development of Vantangiya villages. In the first phase, solar lights were installed, offering some respite from the night’s darkness. Now, the Electricity Department has begun providing formal power connections.

A special camp is scheduled in the village on Saturday, during which official electricity connections will be distributed to households. This milestone illuminates homes and marks the village’s entry into the mainstream of progress.

Santram expressed his astonishment: "We never imagined electricity would reach our village. Now, life truly feels brighter." Sanjay, a beneficiary of the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, remarked, "Now our children can study properly, and we no longer have to worry about leaking roofs." Ram Kripal called it a “historic transformation.”

The arrival of electricity is set to unlock a range of opportunities—improved access to education, better healthcare, and enhanced employment prospects. Tasks like mobile charging, children’s studies, and household chores will become simpler and more efficient. This remarkable initiative by the Yogi government sets an example across the state, proving that with strong will and clear intent, no part of the state needs to remain untouched by the light of development.
