देहरादून : Dehradun, 7 January : Sanjay Gunjyal, a 1997-batch IPS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, has been recognized for his exemplary service and outstanding contributions. After serving in various districts and ranges, he was awarded a Tamra Patra for successfully organizing the Haridwar Kumbh Mela.
Gunjyal’s distinguished career includes accolades such as the President’s Meritorious Service Medal, the Prime Minister’s Life-Saving Medal, and the United Nations and State Distinguished Service Medals. Recently, in recognition of his exceptional performance as Inspector General of ITBP, he was honored with the DG ITBP Insignia Gold Disc.
During his deployment in extremely challenging terrains with the ITBP, Gunjyal demonstrated extraordinary dedication, which earned him the prestigious President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. The medal was presented on January 7, 2025, at the ITBP Raising Day Parade in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, by the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai.
