New Delhi | August 16, 2025 : After nearly three months of investigation, authorities have filed a massive 2,500-page chargesheet against YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, also known as Jyoti Rani, accusing her of spying for Pakistan. Sources confirmed that investigators have gathered “concrete evidence” linking the 33-year-old with operatives of Pakistan’s intelligence network.
Malhotra, who ran a travel vlog under the name Travel With Jo, was arrested by Hisar Police in May 2025. She allegedly maintained contact with Pakistani officials, including Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, who had been stationed at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. Rahim was later expelled from India after being declared persona non grata for espionage and for leaking sensitive information related to Indian Army movements during the Pahalgam attack and subsequent Operation Sindoor.
Links to Pakistan and Beyond
According to the chargesheet, Malhotra’s travel patterns raised significant red flags. Investigators revealed she had crossed into Pakistan on April 17 last year via the Kartarpur Corridor and returned on May 15. Barely 25 days later, she traveled to China on June 10, remaining there until July before heading to Nepal. Authorities believe these trips were not ordinary tourist visits but were part of her espionage activities.
During her visit to Pakistan, Malhotra reportedly met with high-profile figures including the Chief Minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province and Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. She even conducted an interview with Maryam Nawaz, which investigators suspect was a cover for deeper connections.
Contact with ISI Agents
Beyond Rahim, the chargesheet states that Malhotra was also in contact with several other ISI operatives, namely Shakir, Hasan Ali, and Nasir Dhillon. Sources familiar with the investigation confirmed that these connections are thoroughly documented in the case file. “During the investigation, we have found concrete evidence that the YouTuber was spying for Pakistan,” one official source revealed.
While earlier reports suggested Malhotra may not have had direct access to military intelligence, her role as an intermediary and information gatherer has now been firmly established, according to investigators. Her frequent travel to sensitive regions and sustained communication with ISI-linked individuals further strengthened suspicions.
Espionage Angle Still Under Probe
A Haryana Police officer earlier noted that Malhotra had allegedly been in touch with Pakistani officials during the four-day conflict between India and Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. While she may not have directly accessed military operation details, her network of contacts raised serious national security concerns.
Authorities emphasize that the investigation remains ongoing, particularly regarding the exact nature and value of the information she may have shared with Pakistan. The voluminous chargesheet, however, leaves little doubt about her long-term involvement in activities against India’s interests.
With concrete evidence now on record, Malhotra faces serious charges under the Official Secrets Act and other sections related to national security. Officials said further details will emerge as the trial progresses.
