Mumbai | July 7, 2025 : Hollywood’s latest dinosaur epic, Jurassic World: Rebirth, is on a rampage at the Indian box office. The film, led by Scarlett Johansson, has grossed ₹47 crore in India within its first three days, making it one of the biggest Hollywood openers of the year in the country.

The film had a strong opening day with collections between ₹9 to ₹10 crore, and steady growth over the weekend pushed the three-day total to nearly ₹47 crore gross. Despite initial doubts due to limited screen availability for English-language prints, the movie witnessed packed shows in metropolitan cities, leading to additional screenings being scheduled by several multiplex chains.

Rebirth has also seen significant contributions from its dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, helping it reach audiences across various regions. Analysts believe that the film could cross the ₹75 crore mark in India by the end of its first week.

Globally, the film is a box office juggernaut. In just its opening weekend, it is estimated to have collected over $250 million worldwide, with more than half of that coming from international markets. Scarlett Johansson’s role as the fierce and intelligent scientist Zora has not only drawn huge audiences but also helped her achieve a major milestone. With the success of Rebirth, Johansson is now reportedly the highest-grossing actor in leading roles globally, with her lifetime box office earnings crossing $15.6 billion.

The cast also features Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, and Ed Skrein, with direction by Gareth Edwards. The film blends stunning CGI with a darker, more emotional narrative, bringing a fresh tone to the long-running Jurassic franchise.

While critics have offered mixed reviews, praising the visuals but questioning the storyline, audiences have shown overwhelming support. Early viewer reactions in India have been largely positive, with many calling it “the best installment since Jurassic World (2015)” and praising its cinematic scale.

With schools and colleges currently on monsoon break in several parts of India, footfall is expected to remain strong throughout the week. If the trend continues, Jurassic World: Rebirth could challenge previous franchise records and cement its place as one of the top-grossing films of 2025.
