ऑस्टिन (टेक्सस) :
Austin, Texas | July 6, 2025 : In a dramatic move that’s set to shake up the 2026 midterm elections and beyond, tech billionaire Elon Musk officially announced the formation of a new political organization called the America Party. Speaking at a packed press conference in Austin, Texas, Musk said the party’s mission is to "give Americans their freedom back" and restore accountability in Washington.
Musk, who has increasingly become a vocal critic of both major U.S. parties, declared that the America Party would stand against excessive government spending, censorship, and what he termed as “the erosion of individual liberty.” His statement came amid growing dissatisfaction among voters, particularly younger and independent Americans, who feel unrepresented by the current political structure.
“Neither party is serving the people,” Musk said. “The Democrats are spending us into oblivion, and the Republicans are stuck in the past. The America Party is about the future. It’s about freedom, innovation, and sanity.”
This bold move follows Musk’s recent public clash with former President Donald Trump over the latter’s support for a massive domestic spending package. Musk warned that the bill would “explode the national debt” and promised to target lawmakers—both Democrat and Republican—who supported it.
“I will use every legal means at my disposal to make sure they don’t return to office,” he stated. “Anyone who supports bankrupting the country should be out of a job.”
Political analysts say Musk’s party could disrupt traditional voting patterns, especially if it gains traction among libertarians, centrists, and tech-savvy younger voters. Some see parallels with previous third-party movements like Ross Perot’s Reform Party in the 1990s, though Musk’s financial backing, massive online following, and media influence could give him a much stronger platform.
So far, details about the party's structure, leadership, or future candidates remain limited. However, Musk hinted at endorsing a slate of candidates for Congress in 2026 and potentially fielding a presidential candidate in 2028—though he did not confirm if he would run himself.
Critics, including members of both major parties, were quick to respond. A spokesperson for the Democratic National Committee dismissed the America Party as a “billionaire vanity project,” while a GOP strategist warned that Musk’s entrance could split the conservative vote and hand wins to the left.
Musk shrugged off the criticism. “I don’t care what they say,” he quipped. “This isn’t about left or right. It’s about right and wrong.”
Whether the America Party can gain legal recognition in all 50 states and build a lasting infrastructure remains to be seen. But one thing is clear, Elon Musk has just added a massive jolt of electricity to the American political landscape. And with his money, his mouth, and millions of loyal fans, he may be impossible to ignore.
