New Delhi, July 4, 2025 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to release the results of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses (CUET UG 2025) today. Over 13 lakh students who appeared for the examination between May 13 and June 4 are now anxiously awaiting their scorecards, which will be made available on the official CUET portal.
Students will need to log in using their application number and date of birth to access their results. The scorecard will reflect subject-wise performance, overall scores, and NTA percentiles, which are crucial for gaining admission into central, state, and private universities across India. No physical copies will be issued by post.
This year, the final answer key was released earlier in the week and included several corrections. Twenty-seven questions were dropped across different subjects due to discrepancies or ambiguities, and full marks have been awarded for these. In some cases, multiple correct options were allowed. As per the marking scheme, candidates are awarded five marks for each correct response and penalized with one mark for each incorrect answer.
The CUET UG exam, conducted in a computer-based format across multiple shifts, uses a normalization method to ensure fairness across different sessions. This means candidates will receive NTA scores rather than raw marks, ensuring parity despite variations in question papers.
Following the release of the results, approximately 243 participating universities—including 49 central universities—will begin their respective admission processes. Each university will announce its own cut-off marks and counselling schedules based on CUET scores. Counselling is expected to commence by mid to late July and continue through August.
Students aiming for institutions like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and other high-demand universities must check individual college websites for program-specific cut-offs and admission timelines. Many institutions will use a centralized counselling portal where students can indicate their preferred courses and colleges based on their CUET scores.
The NTA has not announced an exact time for the result declaration, but based on previous years, the results are expected in the evening. Students are advised to stay patient and avoid refreshing the website repeatedly, as server delays are common during high-traffic hours. In case of issues accessing the scorecard, switching to an incognito browser or clearing cache may help.
With the results expected to open the next chapter in millions of academic journeys, students are urged to prepare all necessary documents in advance. These include their CUET scorecard, Class 12 marksheet, photo ID, passport-size photographs, and relevant certificates for reserved categories if applicable.
The CUET UG has become the gateway to undergraduate education in India, replacing older admission methods with a unified and transparent evaluation system. For the students who’ve worked tirelessly for months, today marks a major milestone, one that will shape their futures across disciplines and institutions.
