Gorakhpur : Highlighting the contrasting scenarios prevailing in the country, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Saturday that, on the one hand, the nation is witnessing development and awakening of nationalism under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and on the other, there are individuals who are opposed to the upliftment of the impoverished and the marginalized.
Addressing the public meeting after laying the foundation stone and inaugurating 195 development projects of Jal Nigam and Public Works Department worth Rs 629 crore in Gorakhpur, the CM said that there are individuals who are unhappy with the opportunities being offered to the

youth and the prosperity of farmers under the double engine government.
“The vision of a capable and strong India is not well-received by them. ‘Dangabaz’ and ‘Dagabaz’ (rioters and traitors) are obstructing Prime Minister Modi's path.”
CM Yogi stressed the importance of dismantling these barriers through public awareness. “The double engine government will have to keep providing opportunities to carry forward the programs in the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
The Chief Minister inaugurated several significant projects, including the four-lane widening and strengthening of the road from Gorakhnath Temple to Sports College via Nakaha Overbridge, costing Rs 41.20 crore. He also inaugurated the widened and strengthened Mahavankhor-Netwar Bazaar-Kampierganj road at the cost of Rs 20.18 crore.
The CM also laid the foundation stone for projects totaling Rs 567.21 crore aimed at providing pure drinking water to 193-gram panchayats.
CM Yogi described these inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies as a 'Janmashtami gift' to the people. He extended his Janmashtami greetings to everyone and emphasized that the double-engine government not only lays the foundation stone, but also ensures the inauguration of these vital projects.
He expressed pride in India's global standing, noting the positive shift in the world's perception of the country and the increased respect it has garnered on the global stage.
Highlighting the significant transformation of Uttar Pradesh, the country's most populous state, since 2017, the CM said, “The state faced a severe identity crisis due to politics of nepotism, casteism, mafia influence, and corruption. However, the people of UP have now overcome this identity crisis imposed by those who previously held power.”
Referring to the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojana (Tap Water for Every Household Scheme), the Chief Minister emphasized that it goes beyond being just a program. “Providing clean drinking water has been considered a virtuous act since ancient times. Under this scheme, the government not only ensures tap water in every home but also provides purified water through RO systems.”
He noted that over half of the work under this scheme has already been completed in UP. In regions like Bundelkhand, where water accessibility was a challenge, the system is in its final stages across all 4,000 villages. Previously, water had to be transported to these areas by train, and women had to travel up to five kilometers to fetch water.
Mentioning the scheme in the context of Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister said that the main cause of Acute Encephalitis Syndrome was impure drinking water. On the one hand, the eradication of encephalitis is in its final stages, while on the other hand, the program of providing pure drinking water to every household is also progressing rapidly.
While discussing the development of Gorakhpur, CM Yogi Adityanath stated that in the new Uttar Pradesh of a new India, Gorakhpur is shining with a fresh aura. The once notorious Ramgarhtal area, known for crime and filth, has been transformed into a beautiful location where movies are now filmed.
CM Yogi also spoke about the progress made in Gorakhpur, including the setting up of fertilizer factory, opening of AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), a zoo, and the revitalization of BRD Medical College. He highlighted the convenience of flight services connecting Gorakhpur to 14 cities. Furthermore, he noted that nearly every road leading to the city has been expanded to four or six lanes. The recently inaugurated Gorakhnath Temple-Nakaha-Sports College Fourlane now resembles a modern European road, a stark contrast to the past when it used to be submerged in three feet of water, he remarked.
On this occasion, MP Ravi Kishan, Bansgaon MP Kamlesh Paswan, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Mayor Dr. Manglesh Srivastava, MLA Shriram Chauhan, Mahendrapal Singh, Vipin Singh, Pradeep Shukla, BJP District President Yudhishthir Singh, were prominently present.
