Chennai, August 14, 2025 — Superstar Rajinikanth completed 50 years in the film industry today, and his close friend and fellow actor Kamal Haasan joined several stars in celebrating the milestone. Rajinikanth, who made his acting debut in 1975 in K Balachander’s Apoorva Raagangal alongside Kamal Haasan, has since become one of the biggest names in Indian cinema.

Kamal Haasan took to his X account on Wednesday to post a heartfelt message along with a picture of himself with Rajinikanth. “Marking half a century of cinematic brilliance, my dear friend @rajinikanth celebrates 50 glorious years in cinema today. Kamal also extended his wishes to the team of Coolie, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. He praised the film’s crew, including producer Kalanithi Maran, music composer Anirudh Ravichander, and co-stars Sathyaraj, Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, and Soubin Shahir. He also gave a special mention to his daughter Shruti Haasan, who is part of the cast, telling her to “keep shining bright.”
