New Delhi, 12 August : Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev over the phone on Tuesday. President Mirziyoyev extended warm greetings to PM Modi and the people of India on the occasion of the upcoming 79th Independence Day.

The two leaders reviewed progress in various areas of bilateral cooperation, including trade, connectivity, health, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They also discussed regional and global developments of mutual interest.

Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the long-standing ties between India and Central Asia and agreed to maintain close contact to advance their bilateral relationship.
