Noida, August 11, 2025 : A shocking case of child assault has emerged from a daycare facility inside the Paras Tierea residential complex in Noida’s Sector 137, where a 15-month-old baby girl was allegedly abused by a woman attendant. Police have detained the attendant after CCTV footage revealed her hitting the child on the face and intentionally dropping her to the ground.

The incident has triggered panic among residents, as the daycare is one of several such facilities operating in Delhi-NCR residential complexes. Parents typically leave their children there for a few hours while at work, trusting the attendants to ensure their safety and well-being.

The baby’s parents first noticed suspicious marks on their daughter’s thighs on August 4. Initially assuming them to be an allergic reaction, they sought medical advice after teachers at the daycare also raised concerns. A doctor confirmed the marks were caused by human bites, leaving the parents horrified.

Demanding answers, they approached the residential complex authorities for CCTV footage. The recordings showed the attendant physically assaulting the crying child, including slapping her and dropping her to the floor. The parents allege that the daycare owner, identified as Charu, did not intervene during the abuse and instead verbally abused and threatened them when confronted.

An FIR has been registered at Sector 142 police station. The baby has undergone a medical examination, and police have arrested the attendant. Investigations are also underway into the daycare’s operations, licensing, and staffing practices, as the accused attendant is reportedly a minor. Authorities are probing how someone underage was employed for such a sensitive role involving infants.

Sandeep, the baby’s father, revealed that they had enrolled their child at the daycare on May 21 and paid ₹2,500 for two hours of care daily. They were assured that three teachers would attend to the baby but later discovered she was left with the attendant. “We were told our child was very happy. We never imagined something like this could happen,” he said.

Another family in the complex has since come forward, claiming their child also suffered similar abuse at the same daycare, and they plan to file a police complaint.

“I want strict action against the daycare owner and the attendant so no other child suffers this trauma. These have been very tough days for us — I couldn’t work, and my wife couldn’t sleep,” Sandeep said, adding that authorities should ensure only mature, patient caregivers are hired for childcare roles.

Police say they are reviewing the daycare’s licence and will take legal action if irregularities are found. Residents and parents across Noida have expressed outrage, calling for stronger regulations and monitoring of childcare facilities to prevent such horrifying incidents in the future.
