CM Yogi reviews Mahakumbh preparations ahead of PM's visit, issues directives

Mahakumbhnagar, December 12 : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj on Thursday to review preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit on Friday, where the PM is set to inaugurate projects worth thousands of crores for Mahakumbh 2025.

During his visit, the CM conducted a detailed ground inspection of Mahakumbh Nagar and key locations such as the Sangam Nose, where the Prime Minister will perform rituals. He provided clear directives to officials to ensure seamless execution of the event.

The Chief Minister also inspected various important sites, including the temporary 100-bed hospital built in Sector One Parade, Akshay Vat, Saraswati Koop, and the Lete Hanuman temple. At the temple, CM Yogi performed worship amidst Vedic chanting, emphasizing the spiritual significance of the event.

During his hospital inspection, CM Yogi reviewed the Emergency Ward, ICU, OPD, waiting area, main ward, female ward, children's ward and operation theatre. The doctors briefed him about the advanced facilities available at the hospital, including the use of AI-powered cameras in the ICU and the high-tech AI messaging flow system. He was also given a detailed overview of the state-of-the-art laboratory established in the hospital.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction and appreciation for these innovations. He expressed satisfaction with the arrangements but stressed the need for proper staffing, availability of medicines, and enhanced ventilation. The temporary hospital, set up for Mahakumbh 2025, includes a 10-bed ICU operated with support from the Cantt Board and Medanta doctors.

PM Modi’s visit on Friday will feature Ganga Aarti, a public address, and worship at Sangam Nose, underscoring the monumental preparations for the grand event.

After inspecting the hospital, CM Yogi Adityanath proceeded to Kila Ghat to review the newly constructed jetty. He directed officials to ensure adequate facilities for devotees, including bathing arrangements while maintaining robust security measures.

He then visited Sangam Nose, where PM Modi is set to perform rituals on Friday. Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand briefed the CM on the arrangements for the PM’s cruise tour. CM Yogi conducted a thorough inspection, provided essential guidelines, and emphasized maintaining the Ganga's cleanliness.

The CM continued his review at the Akshay Vat Corridor inside the Prayag Fort, arriving by e-cart. He inspected the ongoing Smart City development work, appreciated the corridor's beautification, and admired highlights such as the child form statue of Shri Krishna and the Sapt Rishis’ artwork.

During the visit, army officials presented the CM with a portrait of Akshay Vat. CM Yogi also offered prayers at Akshay Vat and had a photo session, expressing his satisfaction with the progress.

Next, CM Yogi visited the Bade Hanuman Mandir Corridor on the Sangam coast, where Phase-1 development is underway by the Prayagraj Development Authority (PDA).

He reviewed the progress, performed aarti, and prayed for the well-being and prosperity of all citizens, accompanied by temple Mahant Balbir Giri Maharaj. The PDA VC presented the layout plan for the temple corridor, and the CM urged timely completion by accelerating work.

Finally, CM Yogi reached Saraswati Koop, where he offered flowers at the statue of Saraswati Ji in the courtyard, concluding his comprehensive review of preparations for PM Modi’s visit and the grand Mahakumbh 2025.

After visiting Saraswati Koop, CM Yogi Adityanath reached the Authority Office to inspect the Salori Drain purification work in Sector 6 using the Geo Tube method. This innovative technology treats sewer and drain water by reducing 50-60% of BOD levels before sending it to the STP. The city’s 22 untapped drains will be treated through this process, ensuring cleaner discharge into the river.

The trial run has been successful, with operations at full capacity since January 1. CM Yogi emphasized that no untreated sewer water should be allowed into the river and directed officials to ensure STPs operate efficiently throughout the fair, ensuring convenience for attendees.

The CM then inspected arrangements at the Akharas in Sector 20. He first visited Shri Panchayati Akhara Bada Udasin, where he interacted with saints who welcomed him warmly. He also reviewed the setups at Shri Panchayati Akhara Niranjani and Anand Akhara, where Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Shankaranand Saraswati invited him inside. The CM assured a future visit and inspected the external arrangements at other Akharas, ensuring they meet expectations.

Concluding his visit, CM Yogi inspected Triveni Marg, Ganga Riverfront Road Jhunsi, and Chhatnag Ghat. He directed officials to ensure all necessary facilities are in place for devotees, reiterating his commitment to seamless preparations for the grand Mahakumbh 2025.

During the field inspection, CM Yogi was accompanied by Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantradev Singh, Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh and former minister and MLA Siddharthnath Singh along with other leaders and officials.
