Agra : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday hit out at the previous governments, saying that they had no development-oriented thinking. “Agra is no more burdened with heaps of garbage but is making strides in development,” he said.
While addressing a public meeting in Agra during his election campaigning, the Chief Minister said, “Agra is now a smart city and has cleared all its filth whether in terms of garbage or crime.”
Taking a dig at the previous government, the CM commented: “The G20 Summit showcased Agra’s beauty to the world. The youth here today is equipped with tablets and

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Agra is known for its historical background and is the land of heroes. He said that Chhatrapati Shivaji did the task of challenging the foreign invaders here and his government did the work of building a museum in his name. Our entire Braj region is being developed dedicatedly.
He pointed out that what couldn’t have been done in 70 years was done in 9 years when India broke all the shackles of slavery and demonstrated itself as a powerful leader emerging towards being a super power under PM Modi’s vision while hosting the G-20 summit.
*Agra is progressing on the path of development*
Yogi said that Agra has become a part of this development campaign. Today the Police Commissionerate system has been implemented in Agra. Recently, investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore have been received in the Global Investors Summit held in UP. With this, one crore youth are guaranteed direct jobs. In urban areas, 40286 people have got the benefit of PM Awas Yojana. While, before 2017, the people of a particular party used to forcefully occupy the houses of poor and businessman.
The Chief Minister further said that today around 40,000 street vendors have been given the benefit of PM SVANidhi Yojana in Agra. About 1 crore destitute women, divyangjan and old people are being given pension facility in the state of which 1,76,707 destitute women, 50,968 Divyangjan and 3,50,419 old people are from Agra. Ayushman golden cards have been issued to 2.75 lakh people.
CM Yogi Adityanath said that by the end of this year, the operation of Agra Metro train, the best facility of public transport, will also commence. 100 electric buses are already running here. CNG buses are also being run in the urban areas. Along with this, the limits of the municipal corporation have also been expanded in Agra after 37 years. “In AMRUT mission, we have provided funds for 12 projects worth Rs 587 crore. The work of connecting 1.50 lakh families with every household tap scheme and the work of providing sewer connections to about 2.75 lakh families has also been done here. More than 26,000 individual toilets have been built. There is no dearth of money for development today,” he said.
