Bollywood actor and filmmaker Farhan Akhtar has clarified that his highly anticipated film “Jee Le Zaraa” is not shelved, despite years of delays and rumors about the project being put on hold. The film, which was first announced in 2021 with Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, has faced multiple scheduling conflicts that stalled production. Fans have long been eager for updates, and Farhan’s latest remarks provide some clarity on the film’s status.

In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Our Stupid Reactions, Farhan revealed that he has completed location scouting and music recording for the film. However, he declined to comment on the current status of the cast. “I can’t comment on the cast anymore, like what that will be and when that will land,” Farhan said. He emphasized that the film will happen, calling it a “too delicious script” with a lot of work already completed.

Earlier, rumors circulated that “Jee Le Zaraa” had been shelved due to logistical challenges in coordinating the schedules of the leading actors. Farhan acknowledged these difficulties but stressed that the project remains alive, albeit temporarily on the back burner. In 2024, Alia Bhatt had also commented on the film, mentioning that aligning the dates of all key players was challenging but affirming that the intention to make the film was still strong.

“Logistically, it was kaafi difficult to get all the dates together,” Alia had said, “but I think agar sabke zehan mein hai aur intent mein hain toh woh film ban jayegi” – emphasizing that the film would eventually be completed.

“Jee Le Zaraa” was announced by Farhan Akhtar to mark the 20th anniversary of his directorial debut, “Dil Chahta Hai”, and was expected to be his directorial comeback. The film is described as a buddy road movie, promising to capture the essence of friendship and adventure, reminiscent of the charm that made his debut film a cult classic. However, in 2023, Farhan announced a new directorial venture, “Don 3”, starring Ranveer Singh, which temporarily shifted focus away from “Jee Le Zaraa.”

While the original lead trio’s involvement is now uncertain, Farhan assured fans that the project remains a priority. He hinted that the team will return to production “when the timing is right”, leaving audiences hopeful that the beloved film will see the light of day.

Meanwhile, Farhan Akhtar is also busy with another project, “120 Bahadur”, inspired by the true story of the Battle of Rezang La (1962), where 120 Indian soldiers valiantly held their ground against overwhelming enemy forces. The film, directed by Razneesh Ghai, stars Raashii Khanna, Vivian Bhatena, and Eija Khan, and is scheduled for theatrical release on November 21, 2025.

With “Jee Le Zaraa” still alive in planning and production phases, fans continue to watch eagerly for updates on the cast and shooting schedule, keeping hopes high for one of Bollywood’s most anticipated films.
