The development comes after a fresh funding round that reflects strong investor confidence in India’s growing private space sector. The funding round was led by Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC along with Sherpalo Ventures, with participation from BlackRock. With this investment, Skyroot’s total funding has reached around $160 million, and its valuation stands at approximately $1.1 billion. Founded in 2018 by former ISRO scientists, the Hyderabad-based startup has already made history by launching India’s first privately developed rocket in 2022. The company is now preparing for the next key milestone with the upcoming orbital launch of its Vikram-1 rocket. This achievement highlights the rapid rise of India’s private space industry and growing global interest in its space-tech ecosystem, positioning Skyroot Aerospace as a leading player in the new space economy.
