: Decomposed Body of Elderly Man Found in Locked Car near Housing Board Office, Puducherry

The man has been identified as R. Palaniraja, aged around 70, who reportedly lived alone. The discovery was made after neighbours reported a foul odour emanating from the vehicle. Police forced open the car and found the body on the back seat, in a severely decomposed state. Inside the car were liquor bottles and glasses, leading to speculation that he may have consumed alcohol and died while intoxicated. Police also found bloodstains beneath the car, which has raised the possibility of foul play. Investigators have not ruled that out, though no suspects have yet been named. The car’s ownership was traced to an auto driver who had parked it in that spot approximately 15 days ago. Relatives of Mr. Palaniraja say he had a history of mental instability and lived alone.
