Jharkhand Police & CRPF Eliminate Three Top Maoists in Major Anti-Naxal Operation

In a significant blow to Naxalite insurgency, the Jharkhand Police, in coordination with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), have eliminated three senior Maoist leaders during a major anti-Naxal operation. The operation underscores intensifying security efforts in the state to weaken left-wing extremist networks. One of the eliminated insurgents carried a bounty of ₹1 crore, while the combined rewards on the three amounted to ₹1.35 crore, according to security sources. The operation took place in the forested areas of Hazaribagh district. In a related development, UNICEF and the Jharkhand Education Project Council have launched a new initiative in Ranchi aimed at holistic adolescent development. The program will work through schools and communities to provide health, life-skills training, gender equality awareness, and improving retention rates among adolescents. It is seen as part of the state’s broader strategy to tackle social issues stemming from poverty, early marriage, school dropouts, and lack of exposure.

Another story gaining attention: a delegation from Tata Motors met Chief Minister Hemant Soren to talk about innovations in green transport, particularly hydrogen engines and electric trucks. The discussions signal growing interest in promoting sustainable mobility and environmental renewables within state infrastructure planning. Additionally, at the Jharkhand Police Headquarters in Ranchi, a fire severely damaged equipment including about 40 computers, raising concerns about departmental data security and operational disruptions. The cause is under investigation. The elimination of Maoist leaders is being hailed as a major success in the state’s counter-insurgency campaign.

Analysts say that such operations, combined with social development programs like the adolescent initiative and transport sustainability plans, indicate a dual approach: security + welfare. However, they caution that the success will depend on consistency and whether these gains reach remote and conflict-affected areas.
