YUGVARTA NEWS
Lucknow, 16 Sep, 2025 06:14 PMThe Himachal Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has approved a major package of initiatives after a recent cabinet meeting aimed at strengthening public services, education, and tourism. Over 4,200 government posts are to be created across various departments including power, health, law enforcement, and education. Positions include technical mates, staff nurses, medical officers, assistant professors in medical colleges, trainee patwaris, and Bijli Upbhogta Mitras. Also approved were 25 steno-typist posts, along with increased law enforcement in Parwanoo and Dharampur.
In the education sector, the government has decided to affiliate 100 government schools with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) so as to standardize curriculum and infrastructure, particularly in remote and hill regions. Dialysis centres are planned in nine districts, intended to reduce the travel burden on patients from far–flung areas.
To boost tourism and self-employment, a scheme titled Chief Minister Start-Up Scheme in the Hospitality Industry has been launched. New and existing homestays will receive loan interest subsidies between 3% to 5% under this scheme. The move is expected to bring more investment into small tourism ventures, especially those in rural and scenic parts of the state.
Other decisions include safety measures: tandem paragliding pilots will be required to undergo mandatory safety training by August 31 (of the upcoming year). There are also changes in land acquisition timelines for the Kangra Airport project, amendments to certificate.
These decisions reflect Himachal Pradesh’s focus on combining infrastructure growth with improved service delivery while also leveraging tourism and health care as anchors for development. With the posts being made in health, power, law and education, officials hope to address long-pending shortages of staff and better reach remote areas. However, managing logistics and ensuring timely recruitment and deployment will be key for the success of this ambitious rollout.
