Lucknow, 29 Sep, 2025 03:18 PMPanipat | September 29, 2025 A shocking case of child abuse from a private school in Panipat, Haryana has ignited widespread anger and raised pressing concerns over children’s safety in educational institutions. Disturbing videos from a school located on Jattal Road surfaced on social media, showing brutal treatment of students at the hands of school staff. One of the viral clips shows a seven-year-old Class 2 student tied with ropes, hung upside down from a window, and mercilessly beaten by the school driver. The child’s mother, Doli, a resident of Mukhija Colony, said her son had recently been admitted to the school. She alleged that principal Reena ordered the punishment and instructed driver Ajay to “discipline” the boy for not completing homework. The horrifying ordeal did not end there. Ajay allegedly slapped the child, hurled abuses, and even made video calls to friends while carrying out the assault. Shockingly, he recorded the incident and uploaded the video online, which later reached the child’s family, exposing the abuse. Another video that emerged from the school shows principal Reena herself physically assaulting students. She was seen slapping and scolding young children in front of others. When questioned, she attempted to justify her actions by claiming that the children had misbehaved with two sisters and that parents had been informed before punishment was administered. However, her defense contradicts the Ministry of Education’s strict prohibition on corporal punishment in schools. Several parents also alleged that students were sometimes forced to clean toilets as a form of discipline, further intensifying the outrage. When confronted, principal Reena admitted to instructing Ajay to “scold” the child on August 13 but distanced herself from the severity of the abuse. She claimed that Ajay had been dismissed in August due to multiple complaints against him. But according to the boy’s family, Ajay continued to threaten them after the video went viral, even sending men to their residence in an attempt to silence them. Following the family’s complaint, police at the Model Town station registered a case against both the driver and the principal under relevant provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and sections of the IPC dealing with child cruelty. Officials assured that strict action would be taken against those responsible. The incident has triggered widespread condemnation from parents, child rights activists, and education experts. Many stressed that the case highlights not only the dangers of unchecked power within schools but also the urgent need to strengthen the enforcement of child protection laws. While the boy is reportedly recovering with his family, the psychological impact of such trauma remains a major concern. Activists have urged authorities to ensure proper counseling for the victim and strict monitoring of school practices across the state. This shocking case from Panipat stands as a grim reminder of why stronger oversight, accountability, and awareness of children’s rights are essential in every educational institution.
