Gujarat High Court Receives Bomb Threat, Search Operation Underway

Law enforcement agencies, including the Sola police and a bomb disposal squad, rushed to the scene and immediately began a comprehensive search and investigation. The threat, which has yet to be verified, has prompted a swift and thorough response from authorities, who have cordoned off the area to ensure the safety of court staff, lawyers, and the public.
This incident comes at a time of heightened security across the country, following a series of similar threats. While no suspicious device has been found so far, the police are treating the threat with utmost seriousness. The ongoing search operation and investigation are part of a coordinated effort to identify the source of the email and determine its authenticity.
In a separate but related development, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed by the Supreme Court is scheduled to consider a confidential report regarding allegations of violations against the Vantara zoological rescue and rehabilitation center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The SIT, chaired by former top court judge Justice J. Chelameswar, was tasked with conducting an independent appraisal of complaints regarding the unlawful acquisition of animals, animal mistreatment, and financial irregularities. The Supreme Court is expected to take up the sealed report today, a move that highlights the ongoing legal and environmental scrutiny of the facility.
The state is also in the midst of an economic transition. Nextgen Semiconductor has announced plans to raise ₹1,500 crore for a new fabrication facility in Dholera, a project that is expected to exceed ₹8,800 crore in total investment.
