Andaman & Nicobar Islands Launches Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 Campaign

The Andaman & Nicobar Islands have officially launched the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign, aligning with the nationwide initiative aimed at promoting cleanliness and sanitation. The campaign commenced on September 17 and will continue until October 2, coinciding with Gandhi Jayanti. The launch events were held simultaneously in urban and rural areas, with civic bodies and rural development institutions leading the efforts. Activities included cleanliness drives, sapling plantations, and community engagement programs, emphasizing the importance of public hygiene and environmental sustainability. A significant highlight of the campaign is the week-long Underwater Photography Contest, scheduled from September 20 to 25. This contest invites enthusiasts to capture the breathtaking marine biodiversity of the Andaman Sea, promoting eco-tourism and raising awareness about marine conservation. Additionally, a Volleyball Tournament will be held at the Mini Stadium in Wimberlygunj on September 25 and 26. Organized by the Directorate of Education and the RD & Panchayat Department in association with the Tourism Department, the tournament aims to engage the local youth in healthy competition and promote sports tourism. The Swachhata Hi Seva campaign in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands is not just a symbolic gesture but part of a sustained effort to create a cleaner and greener environment. Authorities have emphasized the importance of community participation in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring the long-term success of the initiative. As the campaign progresses, it is expected to foster a sense of civic responsibility among residents and inspire other regions to undertake similar initiatives for a cleaner and healthier future.
