Lucknow, 5 Nov, 2026 07:59 PMNew Delhi, October 05, 2026 BJP National President Nitin Nabin visited the renowned Gorakhnath Temple in Gorakhpur on November 5, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The visit marked an important part of his two-day tour of the city, bringing a religious engagement into a schedule otherwise focused on party organisation and upcoming electoral preparations. Both leaders offered prayers to Guru Gorakhnath and performed traditional rituals to seek his blessings. Several prominent BJP leaders accompanied them during the temple visit, including Uttar Pradesh BJP President Pankaj Chaudhary, Jal Shakti Minister Swatantra Dev Singh and Gorakhpur MP Ravi Kishan Shukla, along with other senior party functionaries. The visit followed a dinner hosted by Pankaj Chaudhary at his Gorakhpur residence on the evening of November 4, attended by Nabin, Yogi Adityanath and other senior leaders. During his stay, Nabin also led the 'Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao' march in Gorakhpur, where he launched a sharp attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Gandhi was being used by a foreign toolkit network to create chaos in India. Nabin also questioned Gandhi's moral authority to seek answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and criticised the Congress leadership over its electoral performance. Nabin's two-day Gorakhpur programme began on November 4 with an interaction with intellectuals at Annexe Bhawan in Taramandal. He also held meetings with senior party leaders, office-bearers and public representatives to discuss organisational matters and preparations for the upcoming elections. His visit to the Gorakhnath Temple, however, remained a prominent highlight of the tour.
