Lucknow, 11 Sep, 2026 09:10 AMNew Delhi : India delivered a statement performance in the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026, crushing Pakistan 19-0 in the quarterfinals on Thursday to book a place in the tournament’s last four. The defending champions were relentless from the opening whistle, combining sustained attacking pressure with clinical finishing to leave Pakistan with no chance of mounting a comeback.
India Dominate From the Start
India, who had already topped their group after defeating Japan, Malaysia and South Korea, continued their impressive campaign with another commanding victory.
Pooja Sahu put India ahead in the seventh minute, setting the tone for what turned into a one-sided contest. Sanika Mane added two goals as India repeatedly breached the Pakistani defence. By the interval, India had built a commanding 10-0 lead.
Nine More Goals After the Break
The Indian attack showed no signs of slowing down after the restart. The defending champions added another nine goals in the second half, maintaining relentless pressure on Pakistan throughout.
Pooka Malik was among the standout performers, completing a hat-trick. Supriya and Purnima Yadav also made significant contributions, scoring two goals each as India’s attacking unit continued to find gaps in the Pakistani defence.
Pakistan struggled to contain India’s consistent attacks and could not find a response as the scoreline continued to grow.
India Eye a Third Consecutive Title
With their place in the semifinals secured, India are now two victories away from completing a hat-trick of Women’s Junior Asia Cup titles. The team previously lifted the trophy in 2023 and 2024 and will be aiming to extend that winning run in the current edition.
India will next face the winner of the South Korea-Malaysia quarterfinal for a place in the final. After such a commanding quarterfinal performance, the defending champions will enter the semifinal with considerable momentum as they continue their pursuit of a third straight continental crown.
