India Create History with Dominant Lord’s Test Triumph

New Delhi, July 13, 2026 India’s women’s team delivered a commanding performance at Lord’s, securing a historic 270-run victory over England in the one-off Test to register their first-ever women’s Test win at the iconic venue. The result highlighted India’s growing strength in red-ball cricket, as the visitors outplayed England in every department to add another memorable chapter to their Test journey. Set a daunting target of 457, England were bowled out for 186 in 62.5 overs on the fourth morning. Sneh Rana starred with figures of 4/42, while Deepti Sharma claimed 2/36 to lead India’s bowling effort. England resumed the day at 130/6, but Rana struck early by dismissing Amy Jones for 54. Issy Wong and Sophie Ecclestone added some resistance before Deepti removed Wong, and Rana later bowled Ecclestone for a fighting 50 to complete India’s emphatic victory. India’s success was built on an outstanding all-round display across the four-day contest. Vice-captain Smriti Mandhana laid the platform with scores of 83 and 70, while Yastika Bhatia’s 113 became the first century scored in a women’s Test at Lord’s.
