Humne mana nahi kiya’: Suryakumar Yadav Clears Air on Pakistan’s Boycott Threat Ahead of India Clash

Maharashtra | 5 Feb 2026 India captain Suryakumar Yadav has finally responded to the uncertainty surrounding the high-voltage T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan, scheduled for February 15 in Colombo. His statement came a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reiterated that the Pakistan team would not play against India. Until then, the Indian camp had remained silent on the issue, adding to the suspense around the marquee clash. Addressing the media at the pre-tournament press conference, Suryakumar made it clear that India has not refused to play the match under any circumstances. He confirmed that the Indian team will travel to Colombo as planned, irrespective of Pakistan’s decision. Clarifying India’s stand, he said, “Mindset is clear... humne mana nahi kiya khelne kie liye. Udhar se mana kiya hai. ICC ne fixture diya hai, government ne decide kiya hai neutral venue. Humari flight book hai Colombo ki, hum to jaa rahe hai. Baaki dekh lege.” The Indian skipper stressed that the fixture was announced by the ICC and the decision to play at a neutral venue was taken by the government. He also confirmed that the team has already booked its flight to Colombo and is fully prepared to follow the schedule. According to him, any uncertainty around the match is not due to India’s stance but Pakistan’s refusal to take the field. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has not yet officially informed the ICC about the government’s directive. If Pakistan decides to stay away from the match, it would result in a walkover in India’s favour. As per ICC rules, India will be awarded two points if the team is present at the R. Premadasa Stadium for the toss and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha does not appear. With the countdown to the match underway, all eyes are now on Pakistan’s final decision and the ICC’s response. For now, India has made its position clear the team is ready, willing, and on its way to Colombo. ‘Humne Mana Nahi Kiya’: Suryakumar Yadav Speaks Out on Pakistan Skipping India T20 World Cup Match India captain Suryakumar Yadav has cleared the confusion around the India vs Pakistan T20 World Cup match scheduled for February 15 in Colombo.
