Rashmika Mandanna Reveals the Extreme Challenges Behind ‘Mysaa’

New Delhi, September 21, 2026 Rashmika Mandanna is taking on one of the most physically demanding roles of her career with Mysaa. At the film’s teaser launch, the actor spoke candidly about the demanding shoot, revealing how the project pushed her through physically risky sequences, emotionally challenging moments and even a serious injury. Rashmika said the film has taken her into territory she had never explored before. “This film is new territory to me. The first is always nervous. I have always wanted to try out something new every time. For Mysaa, I gave my life. What all have they made me do! Imagination has no bounds. But translating that onto the screen is not easy at all." One of the difficult experiences came during the Kerala schedule, when the actor was asked to run at full speed on a hilltop. Concerned that a fall could affect her other projects, she expressed her hesitation, but the director remained firm. “The director took us to a hilltop and asked me to run at maximum speed. I expressed dismay and fear, saying a slip could spoil my schedules for other projects too. But he wouldn't budge," she said, laughing about the situation. The shoot became even more challenging when Rashmika was asked to jump from the 90-foot Athirappally waterfalls. Recalling the experience, she said, “The director asked me to do it just like that! I was shivering through the day, literally. He asked me to be underwater for eight hours. Tell me, am I a fish? The mud fight was another experience. It was so, so hard. Yet I did it.” With 12 days of filming still remaining, Rashmika admitted, "I am already scared." She also revealed that the physical strain resulted in a major injury during a dance sequence. “While dancing, my hip tendon got detached. The doctor told me he had seen it only in football players. The fixing is going to take another three weeks," she shared. She added, "I am soft-hearted. I can go to any length for a film if the director is passionate." Directed by Rawindra Pulle, Mysaa stars Rashmika Mandanna alongside Samuthirakani, Easwari Rao, Tarak Ponnappa and Guru Somasundaram. With its demanding action sequences and an intense physical preparation process, the film has already given Rashmika a distinctly challenging experience. Mysaa is scheduled to release in theatres on November 27.
