Academy Revisits ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ With Iconic Bunny-Naina Moment

New Delhi, August 31, 2026 More than a decade after its release, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani continues to connect with audiences. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has now spotlighted a memorable scene from Ayan Mukerji’s 2013 film, once again bringing the beloved Bollywood classic into focus. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin in key roles. The Academy shared the scene featuring Bunny and Naina, played by Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, as they discuss the importance of enjoying the present rather than constantly chasing the future. Naina tells Bunny, “Jitna bhi try karo Bunny life mein kuch na kuch toh chootega hi. Toh kyu na jahan hai, wahin ka maza lete haina”. Sharing the clip, the Academy wrote, “A reminder from Naina to enjoy what’s right in front of you.” The post received an enthusiastic response from Indian fans. One netizen joked, “I think the Indian Intern at @theacademy is really putting his/her 100% efforts to give Indian movies their due recognition.” Another wrote, “The Academy is in love with Deepika Padukone, just like the rest of us.” Praising Deepika’s performance, another fan commented, “Deepika Padukone has given us so many iconic characters and Naina Talwar is one of the best. What a performance”. Earlier, the Academy had also shared a scene from Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om. The film follows Bunny, Naina and their friends through friendship, love, ambition and the choices that shape their lives. A major box-office success upon release, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani has gone on to develop a cult following, with its songs, dialogues and characters remaining popular years later. The Academy’s latest recognition once again underlines the film’s enduring cultural and emotional appeal.
