UP Board results 2026 declared: 90.42% pass in High school, 80.38% in Intermediate

Lucknow, 23 Apr, 2026 11:04 PMLucknow, April 23 : The Board of Secondary Education declared the results of the UP Board High School and Intermediate Examinations 2026 on Thursday. The overall pass percentage stood at 90.42% for High School and 80.38% for Intermediate.
In the High School toppers list, Kashish Verma (97.83%) from Baburam Savitri Devi Inter College, Sheikhpur Bilauli Bazar, Pihani (Sitapur), and Anshika Verma (97.83%) from The Modern Academy Inter College, Zaidpur (Barabanki) jointly secured the first position.
In the Intermediate exam, Shikha Verma (97.60%) from Baburam Savitri Devi Inter College, Sitapur, secured the top rank.
In accordance with Yogi government’s vision, the entire examination process was conducted in a fair, transparent, and cheating-free manner. Secondary Education Minister Gulab Devi congratulated all successful students and wished them a bright future.
The results were officially announced on April 23, 2026, at 4 PM by the Director of Education (Secondary) and Chairman of the Board, Dr. Mahendra Dev, along with Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh.
This year, High School and Intermediate exams were conducted between February 18 and March 12, 2026, across 8,033 centres in the state over 15 working days. Evaluation of answer sheets was carried out from March 18 to April 4, 2026, at a total of 254 evaluation centres.
A total of 26,01,381 candidates appeared in the High School exam, including 13,43,524 boys and 12,57,857 girls. Out of these, 23,52,181 students passed, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 90.42%.
The pass percentage for boys was 87.30%, while for girls it was 93.76% (6.46% higher than boys). Institutional candidates recorded a pass percentage of 90.51%, while private candidates had 66.67%. A total of 96,803 examiners evaluated the High School answer sheets.
In the Intermediate exam, 24,86,072 candidates appeared, including 13,09,397 boys and 11,76,675 girls. Out of these, 19,98,317 candidates passed, bringing the overall pass percentage to 80.38%.
The pass percentage for boys was 75.04%, while for girls it was 86.32% (11.28% higher than boys). Institutional candidates recorded 80.47%, while private candidates had 77.54%. A total of 55,973 examiners evaluated the Intermediate answer sheets.
Intermediate practical exams were conducted in two phases from January 24 to February 9, 2026, under the supervision of 18,007 examiners.
In partial subject exams, 3,286 High School and 58,134 Intermediate candidates appeared. Overall, girls once again outperformed boys in the UP Board exams this year, while the examination and evaluation process was completed in a timely and transparent manner.
