UP Expands Health Coverage with ₹5 Lakh Cashless Treatment for Workers, Says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state is moving forward with a positive vision of development and expanding healthcare support for a wider section of society. He stated that the government has not limited health benefits only to Ayushman Bharat, but has also extended similar facilities to several categories of workers and employees across the state. According to the Chief Minister, the state government has recently provided ₹5 lakh cashless medical treatment to many groups, including government employees, teachers, Anganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Shiksha Mitras, instructors and cooks working under the Basic Education Council. These beneficiaries can now receive treatment at empanelled hospitals without worrying about large medical expenses, as the government will cover treatment costs up to five lakh rupees. He further said that if any person is unable to get a card under Ayushman Bharat or the Mukhyamantri Jan Arogya Yojana, the government still ensures help through the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. Yogi Adityanath revealed that in the past one year alone, ₹1,300 crore has been provided from the relief fund to support patients across different hospitals in the state so that they can receive better healthcare facilities. Highlighting the broader transformation of Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Minister said that the state is changing rapidly with development-focused initiatives. He noted that the government is working on programs like One District One Product and the plan to establish one medical college in every district, while also promoting local culture and food through initiatives such as “One District One Cuisine.” He added that with a population of around 25 crore people, the progress of the state depends on collective efforts and the commitment of both the government and citizens.
