New Delhi | December 16, 2025 The Indian Army has invited applications for its High-Tech Internship Programme for 2026, offering young engineers and researchers a rare opportunity to work on advanced defence technology projects while earning a stipend of ₹1,000 per day. The programme is aimed at students and graduates with strong technical backgrounds who want hands-on exposure to real-world, mission-critical systems used by the Army. The internship is part of the Indian Army Internship Programme (IAIP) 2025 and is branded “Beyond Silos, Beyond Limits.” It focuses on bringing fresh talent into India’s defence innovation ecosystem and encouraging collaboration between young technologists and Army professionals. Applications for the programme are open until December 21, 2025. According to details shared by the Army, the internship will run for 75 days, starting on January 12, 2026, and concluding on March 27, 2026. Selected interns will be posted either in New Delhi or Bengaluru, where they will work closely with Army teams on secure and sensitive projects. These projects involve defence-grade applications and require interns to operate in controlled and classified environments. The programme is designed for students who want more than classroom learning. Interns will actively contribute to the development of advanced software systems and artificial intelligence-based solutions used by the Indian Army. The work will include building high-end applications, developing AI models, and supporting next-generation digital systems that play a role in national security. Interns selected under the programme will gain exposure to a wide range of modern technologies. These include frontend tools such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Dart, and Svelte, along with backend technologies like Python, Java, C#, Node.js, and Rust. The programme also covers popular frameworks including React, Angular, Django, Next.js, Flutter, and Laravel. In addition to software development, the internship places strong emphasis on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Interns may work on data analytics, autonomous systems, large language models, vision-language models, and other emerging AI technologies. Exposure to secure cloud computing, edge computing, Internet of Things systems, and DevSecOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is also part of the programme. Geospatial technologies form another key area of work. Interns may use tools like ArcGIS and QGIS for spatial analysis and geoprocessing. Experience with APIs, including REST APIs and data formats such as JSON and XML, will also be part of the learning process. The eligibility criteria for the internship include final-year students or graduates of BE or BTech courses in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or Electronics and Communication Engineering. Students pursuing or holding an MTech degree in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Software Engineering can also apply. In addition, PhD scholars working in fields like AI, DevSecOps, Software Engineering, or Big Data are eligible.
