Indus Towers Appoints Venkatesh Tiwari as COO Amid Leadership Transition

New Delhi, April 1, 2026: Indus Towers Limited has announced the appointment of Venkatesh Tiwari as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective April 1, 2026. The move comes as part of a planned leadership transition ahead of the retirement of current COO Tejinder Singh Kalra, who is set to step down on August 31, 2026. Tiwari will also be part of the company’s Senior Management Personnel (SMP).

With nearly 28 years of leadership experience spanning e-commerce, telecommunications, consumer electronics, and logistics, Tiwari brings a strong track record of driving operational excellence and business transformation. He is widely recognized for leading high-performance, customer-centric teams and managing complex, large-scale operations.

Currently associated with Amazon, Tiwari has held multiple leadership roles, contributing significantly to the company’s growth in India. As a leader for Amazon Now, Seller Fulfilment, and third-party logistics (3PL) channels, he played a key role in launching quick commerce offerings in the country. He led large cross-functional teams across ultra-fast delivery systems, grocery operations, same-day delivery, and logistics networks.

During his tenure at Amazon, Tiwari was instrumental in driving some of the company’s most ambitious initiatives in India, including one of the fastest quick-commerce launches in Amazon’s global network. He also spearheaded strategic partnerships and expanded the company’s reach to cover all pin codes across the country, enhancing delivery speed, reliability, and accessibility for millions of customers and sellers.

Prior to Amazon, Tiwari held leadership roles at Samsung, Airtel, and Perfetti Van Melle. At Airtel, he contributed across operations, customer service management, and sales and marketing, playing a key role in strategic and operational advancements.

Tiwari holds a B.Tech in Electronics and Communications from Birla Institute of Technology Mesra (1996) and an MBA in Marketing and International Business from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (1998).

The appointment signals Indus Towers’ focus on strengthening its leadership bench and driving the next phase of operational growth as the company prepares for a smooth transition in its top management.
