New Delhi, October 06, 2026 A protest by Opposition MPs against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar intensified in New Delhi on October 6, 2026, after Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was detained by Delhi Police. The demonstration centred on the Opposition’s concerns over the electoral roll revision process and its demands regarding the functioning of the Election Commission. The INDIA bloc organised a march towards the Election Commission headquarters to raise its concerns over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. Opposition MPs participated in the demonstration as they sought to press their demands before the poll authorities. Rahul Gandhi was detained by Delhi Police during the protest.
