Lucknow, 21 Apr, 2026 10:36 PMNew Delhi, April 21, 2026 A fresh political controversy has intensified the ongoing war of words between the BJP and Congress, highlighting the increasingly sharp tone of public discourse ahead of key political moments. The debate centers around a remark made by Mallikarjun Kharge, which has drawn strong condemnation from the BJP. Reacting to the statement, BJP leader Sambit Patra criticized Kharge for referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a “terrorist.” Patra said the comment was not accidental but reflected a deeper “mindset” within the Congress party. He further alleged that such language is part of a “deliberate conspiracy” and claimed that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also consistently used abusive language against the Prime Minister. “This is not only condemnable but also reflects the Congress party's mindset. This is no slip of tongue. Even if he is offering any explanation, remember this is a deliberate conspiracy by the Congress party... Every day, Rahul Gandhi uses abusive language against the Prime Minister in his speeches, and today, at Rahul's behest, Mallikarjun Kharge called the Prime Minister a terrorist.,” Patra said. He also accused the Congress of having a history of controversial positions, stating, “This is the same Congress party that calls Osama bin Laden 'Osama ji'. This is the same Congress party that is seen standing with major terrorists, yet calls Prime Minister Narendra Modi a terrorist. This is the same Congress party that calls Zakir Naik an apostle of peace... The Congress party should remember that whenever the Congress party has abused the Prime Minister, the people of India have punished it. This time too, the people of India will give a reply.” The exchange underscores the deepening political divide, with both sides continuing to trade sharp accusations, signaling that rhetoric is likely to remain intense in the days ahead.
