Raja Subramani as the next Chief of Defence Staff (CDS). The appointment highlights the continued focus on strengthening coordination among the Army, Navy, and Air Force while advancing India’s long-term defence and security strategy. Lt Gen Subramani, a senior officer from the Garhwal Rifles, has held several important positions during his military career, including Vice Chief of Army Staff and Commander of the Central Command. He has extensive operational experience in Jammu & Kashmir, the Northeast, and along the western border, along with strategic responsibilities in the National Security Council Secretariat. As CDS, he will take charge of improving joint military planning and enhancing cooperation between the three services. The role also includes serving as Secretary of the Department of Military Affairs, making it one of the country’s most significant defence appointments. The appointment comes at a crucial time as India continues to modernise its military capabilities and strengthen national security preparedness. Lt Gen Subramani’s experience and leadership are expected to play a key role in shaping the future direction of India’s defence forces.
