The aircraft, carrying 180 passengers, landed safely at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport around 6.40 am. Officials said the diversion was made purely as a “precautionary measure” to ensure the safety of everyone on board. According to airport authorities, the alert was raised after a passenger found a handwritten note on a piece of paper claiming that a bomb was present inside the aircraft. After being informed, the pilot immediately contacted air traffic control and followed standard safety procedures. As a result, the flight was redirected to Ahmedabad instead of continuing to Delhi. Once the aircraft landed, all passengers were safely evacuated. Security teams and airport officials then conducted a thorough inspection of the plane. An airport official said, "So far, no suspicious object has been recovered. The flight may take off after getting a final go-ahead," indicating that checks were ongoing to rule out any threat. In a statement, IndiGo confirmed that flight 6E 1232 operating from Kuwait to Delhi was diverted after a “security threat” was detected on board. The airline said that authorities were immediately informed and all mandatory safety protocols were followed. After completing the required security checks, the aircraft was cleared, and the flight was expected to resume its journey after receiving final clearance.
