Girls Chase Away Bajrang Dal Activists at MP Garba Event

New Delhi, October 21, 2026

A Garba celebration in Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district witnessed a confrontation after a group of Bajrang Dal activists allegedly attempted to intervene in the festivities. The incident took place in the Sanawad area, where women and girls attending the event reportedly stood together against the activists and forced them to leave the venue. A video of the confrontation has since circulated widely on social media, drawing attention to the dispute over the celebrations.

According to local accounts, Bajrang Dal members entered the Garba pandal and demanded that the music be stopped, reportedly objecting to DJ songs they considered vulgar or unsuitable for a religious festival. Other accounts suggested that the activists had entered the venue to question whether the organisers had secured the necessary permission from local authorities. The intervention triggered opposition from the women and girls present, who refused to comply with the demands.

The confrontation intensified as a large group of female participants gathered around the activists and pushed them towards the exit. Rather than backing down, the women reportedly continued to resist until the group was forced to leave the venue. The incident was captured on video, showing the women confronting the activists during the heated exchange.

As the activists were escorted out by the crowd, the women raised slogans against them. While some social media accounts described the chants as “Bajrang Dal Down Down,” footage from the scene captured slogans including “Bajrang Dal Murdabad” and “Bajrang Dal Haye-Haye.” The chants reflected the participants’ opposition to the activists’ intervention in the event.

The incident has gained attention across social media platforms, with the footage showing women and girls collectively resisting the attempt to disrupt the celebrations. The confrontation in Sanawad has brought the dispute over DJ music and the intervention of the activists into public focus, highlighting the tensions that emerged during the Garba event.
