Delhi Police Takes Out Tiranga Rally Ahead of Independence Day

New Delhi, August 14, 2026 With India preparing to celebrate its 80th Independence Day, the New Delhi Zone of Delhi Police organised a Tiranga Rally on Friday under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The initiative focused on spreading awareness about the national flag and encouraging citizens to take part in the Independence Day celebrations. The rally travelled from Vijay Chowk to India Gate and featured Police Control Room (PCR) vans and bikes. Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Kharak Singh Rawat said the rally was organised to create awareness among the public. “Under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga, Ghar-Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which carries Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s message, we are holding a Tiranga Rally to raise awareness among every individual,” said Rawat. He further said that 25 Mobile Patrol Vehicles (MPVs), along with their deployed personnel, participated in the rally. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign was launched under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and encourages citizens to bring the national flag home and hoist it to mark Independence Day. This year, as the country celebrates its 80th Independence Day, the campaign also has a special focus on marking 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’. The 2026 campaign includes Tiranga rallies and processions, exhibitions, concerts, bike and cycle rallies, tricolour illumination of prominent locations, decorations and Rangoli programmes. Events will also be held under the theme “Tiranga Salute to the Spirit of Vande Mataram”, alongside the “Selfie with Tiranga” initiative. Through such programmes, the campaign seeks to turn Independence Day celebrations into a wider public expression of national pride and participation.
