Speaking at the STPI Tech Summit 2026 and the 35th Foundation Day celebration of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) in New Delhi, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jitin Prasada highlighted the country’s growing focus on strengthening its digital ecosystem. Addressing the gathering, Jitin Prasada said, "STPI's 35-year journey reflects the remarkable transformation of India's technology ecosystem and its emergence as a global digital powerhouse. Guided by the vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for Viksit Bharat@2047, India is creating a future-ready digital economy driven by innovation, entrepreneurship and technological self-reliance." He noted that initiatives such as the India Semiconductor Mission and IndiaAI Mission are opening new avenues for research, manufacturing, and innovation-led growth. The summit brought together policymakers, investors, and industry leaders to discuss the future of technology and innovation in India. Several initiatives aimed at supporting startups and emerging enterprises were also introduced. STPI’s contribution in promoting technology-driven development has played a significant role in encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation, particularly in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across the country. With continued investments in digital infrastructure, supportive policies, and improved access to technology, India is positioning itself as a major force in the global technology landscape. The government believes that sustained focus on innovation and digital transformation will further strengthen the country's role in shaping the economy of the future and driving long-term growth.
