Daylight Murder in Greater Noida Ends With Six Arrests

New Delhi, May 21, 2026 A shocking murder in Greater Noida has once again put the spotlight on law and order in fast-growing urban regions of Uttar Pradesh. The broad daylight killing of Deepak Nagar created panic in the area, prompting swift police action that led to the arrest of six accused linked to the case. The incident has sparked fresh concerns over targeted violence and public safety. According to police officials, Deepak Nagar was heading towards work near Vedpura village in the Ecotech-3 police station area when armed assailants intercepted him and opened fire. He was immediately taken to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. After the victim’s family filed a complaint, police teams launched an extensive operation to identify and arrest those involved in the shooting. During the investigation, four accused — Naveen, Abhi alias Abhay, Akash and Mogli alias Pawan — were arrested soon after the incident. All of them are reportedly residents of Vedpura village and known to the victim. Later, Harsh alias Radhe and Jagat Singh were also taken into custody following a police encounter in which both sustained injuries. Police said weapons and cartridges were recovered during the operation. Officials stated that the investigation is still in progress and the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be fully confirmed.
