PIB Dehradun Flags Off 5-Day Press Tour to Odisha for Uttarakhand Journalists

Dehradun, March 22, 2026: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, on Sunday flagged off a five-day press tour to Odisha for a 15-member media delegation from Uttarakhand.


The initiative aims to provide journalists with first-hand exposure to key development initiatives and flagship schemes of the Central Government being implemented in the state. The delegation includes professionals from print, electronic, and digital media, along with freelance journalists.



Focus on Development and Ground-Level Insights



The tour is part of PIB’s ongoing outreach efforts to strengthen the dissemination of accurate and factual information about government policies and programmes. Such visits enable media professionals to directly observe developmental activities and understand their real-time impact at the grassroots level.


During the five-day visit, the delegation will explore several prominent institutions and projects across sectors such as agriculture, fisheries, infrastructure, environmental conservation, and cultural heritage.

Speaking on the occasion, Sanjeev Sundriyal, Assistant Director, PIB Dehradun, said that the press tour serves as a vital platform for connecting journalists from Uttarakhand with development initiatives being implemented in other parts of the country.


He emphasized that such exposure allows media professionals to gain deeper insights into nationally significant projects and understand their implementation and impact at the grassroots level.
