Dhami Completes Five Years as Uttarakhand CM, Showcases Reform-Driven Governance

Dehradun, July 4, 2026 Five years after assuming office, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami used the milestone to highlight his government’s governance model, policy reforms, and development agenda. Stressing administrative transparency, welfare-focused initiatives, and infrastructure expansion, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the “double-engine government” for shaping the state’s progress while safeguarding its cultural heritage. Addressing the people of Uttarakhand on Saturday, Dhami said he had completed five years of public service as the state’s “Chief Servant” with the love, trust, and blessings of its people. He dedicated this journey of service, good governance, and public welfare to the trust, aspirations, and support of Uttarakhand’s 12.5 million residents. He said that under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance, the government had implemented several landmark measures, including the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), a stringent Anti-Cheating Law, an Anti-Conversion Law, a strengthened Land Law, and the abolition of the Madrasa Board with the establishment of the Uttarakhand State Minority Education Authority. According to Dhami, these initiatives have strengthened governance, equality, and transparency across the state. The Chief Minister said the government had also prioritised transparent recruitment, women’s empowerment, employment generation, investment, connectivity, and the expansion of religious and tourism infrastructure, including the Char Dham. He stated that more than 34,000 young people had secured government jobs through a transparent recruitment process, while welfare programmes for soldiers, farmers, youth, and women had been expanded. Dhami added that solar energy, homestays, and self-employment had received a significant boost, record pilgrim and tourist arrivals had strengthened the local economy, and the “House of Himalayas” initiative had helped local products gain global recognition. He also noted that the successful hosting of the National Games, investment projects worth over ₹1 lakh crore reaching the grounding stage, and Uttarakhand’s performance in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) had created fresh opportunities for the state’s development. Announcing the second phase of the “Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, Jan-Jan Ke Dwar” campaign, Dhami said the initiative would strengthen public outreach, resolve grievances, and ensure the last-mile delivery of welfare schemes. Reaffirming his government’s commitment, he said it would continue working towards public welfare, good governance, and prosperity with the trust, support, and active participation of the people, while advancing the vision of “Viksit Uttarakhand, Viksit Bharat.”
