YUGVARTA NEWS
Lucknow, 14 May, 2026 06:17 PMAgartala, May 14, 2026 Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for fuel conservation is beginning to reflect on the ground, with Tripura witnessing a major shift in work culture.
Around 50 percent of government employees in the state have reportedly started working from home as part of efforts to reduce fuel consumption and unnecessary travel. To support the initiative, the Tripura government has implemented a rotational work-from-home arrangement for Group C and Group D employees.
Departments have been instructed to prepare duty schedules to ensure smooth functioning while limiting daily commuting. Essential services have been kept exempt from the arrangement.
The move follows the Prime Minister’s appeal encouraging citizens to save petrol and diesel by choosing alternatives such as public transport, carpooling, virtual meetings, and remote working wherever possible.
The initiative is being seen as a practical step toward resource conservation and responsible energy use. Tripura’s response is being viewed as one of the first large-scale implementations of the Prime Minister’s message.
The development highlights how administrative changes and public participation can work together to support fuel-saving efforts during challenging times.
