Lucknow, 21 Apr, 2026 02:38 PMLucknow, April 20 : Yogi government is increasingly leveraging technology to promote solar energy and ensure effective implementation of schemes in Uttar Pradesh. In this direction, UPNEDA Director Inderjeet Singh on Monday launched the portal www.pmsgy.upneda.co.in for monitoring the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. The portal is being seen as a major step toward ensuring transparency, speed, and accountability in the scheme’s execution.
The new portal provides real-time monitoring of all key stages of the scheme - application, approval, installation of solar plants, and payment. This will not only give officials accurate updates on progress but also make it easier for beneficiaries to track the status of their applications.
Under Yogi government’s digital governance model, this initiative will help make government schemes more transparent and effective.
Notably, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (Government of India) has also appreciated this model developed by UPNEDA. The ministry has sought technical support from UPNEDA to develop a similar portal at the national level. For this, Director Inderjeet Singh has constituted a special committee to provide technical assistance to the central government. This initiative further establishes Uttar Pradesh as a leading state in the renewable energy sector.
Under the leadership of Yogi government, Uttar Pradesh has made significant progress under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana. So far, more than 4,80,000 residential rooftop solar plants have been installed in the state. This achievement not only places the state among the top performers in the country but also marks an important step toward clean energy goals.
The government aims to realize the vision of “solar in every home,” ensuring affordable and clean energy for citizens. This will lead to reduced electricity bills, environmental protection, and greater energy self-reliance.
