UP Government Announces Major IAS Reshuffle, Key Administrative Changes Implemented

Lucknow | 29 March 2026 : The Uttar Pradesh government carried out a significant administrative reshuffle on Sunday evening, transferring nine IAS officers across various departments. The move includes changes at the level of Principal Secretaries and aims to streamline governance by assigning additional responsibilities to senior officials. Two officers who were awaiting postings have also been given new roles under the latest orders issued by the state administration.


Among the key changes, M. Devaraj, who was serving as Principal Secretary in the Appointment and Personnel Department, has been given additional charge as Director General of the Management Academy. Anurag Yadav, previously heading the IT and Electronics Department, has been reassigned as Principal Secretary for Social Welfare and Sainik Welfare. Meanwhile, Alok Kumar has been given additional charge of the IT and Electronics Department alongside his current responsibilities.


Senior officer Saurabh Babu has been assigned additional charge of the Rural Development and Rural Engineering Services Department, along with the role of Director General at the Deendayal Upadhyay State Institute of Rural Development. Ravi Ranjan, who served as Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation and UP Agro, has been posted as Special Secretary in the Medical, Health and Family Welfare Department. T.K. Shibu has been given additional charge as Managing Director of UP Agro.


In other appointments, Himanshu Kaushik has been posted as Managing Director of UP Electronics Corporation, while Soumya Gururani has been appointed as Municipal Commissioner of Shahjahanpur. Dr. Vipin Kumar Mishra has been moved as Additional Managing Director of the State Road Transport Corporation. The sudden reshuffle has created a buzz in administrative circles, with officials expected to take charge of their new roles soon.
